I created three different infographics for three different time periods dating back to the early 20th century. The time periods I cover are Early 20th Century Conflicts (c. 1900-c. 1945), Independence Movements (c.1945-c. 1980s), and Modern History (c. 1980s-present day). Each infographic focuses on a leader for each time period. The content of each infographic is a personality type infographic of each leader focusing on my driving question.

There are many different strategies and models used to determine personality types, but my project is based on the NERIS model. The NERIS model is a combination of the two most popular and influential personality models available today; the Myers-Briggs model and the Big five personality traits. The NERIS model determines your personality type based on five independent spectrums, (Mind, Energy, Nature, Tactics, and Identity), and assigns a letter for each spectrum which refers to one of the two sides you represent best for each spectrum. For example, in the Mind spectrum you are assigned either an “E” for extraversion, or “I” for Introversion, which is then applied to each spectrum. This then determines your personality type and role by combining each spectrum’s results, which is represented by an acronym for your personality type consisting of the 5 spectrum results. Try and see if you can guess what trait you represent best for each spectrum.

The first leader I chose to analyze is from Early 20th Century Conflicts who was the 32nd president of the Untied States. Franklin D. Roosevelt also known as FDR assumed presidency during the Great Depression. FDR's Intuitive nature allowed him to envision a more economically prosperous American and his thinking and planning personality enabled him to bring his vision to fruition.

The second leader I chose to analyze is from the Independent Movement Era who was a civil rights activist. Martin Luther King Jr. was also a Baptist minister who was a key role in the American civil rights movement until he was assassinated in 1968. Dr. King was one of the rarest personality types, and it's only fitting for a truly unique man.

Caption:Dr. King's Personality type was the Advocate, the rarest personality type, which meant he was able to approach problems like no other. The advocate tends to approach life with deep meaning, governed by their inner vision and personal values enabling them to navigate through life. Dr. King perfectly exemplifies this, he was a man with a vision of America that wasn't plagued with racism and classism, and he was able to take decisive action that provided concrete results. Dr. King was a remarkable and one of a kind wonder, and hopefully one day his dream will come true.

The last leader I chose is from Modern History who is a Pakistani activist and also the youngest Nobel Prize winner ever! Malala Yousafzai began her activist journey as young as 11 years old, where she gave her first speech to protest school closings due to the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. Malala became an advocate for girls education, which ultimately caused her to be targeted by the Taliban. Luckily Malala survived an assassination attempt in 2014 where she was shot in the head, and continues to be an advocate for education. I am excited to see what Malala Yousafzai is able to accomplish in the future.

Caption:Malala Yousafzai's personality type is the protagonist, making her a natural born leader. Her extraverted nature allowed her to speak in front of people and deliver speeches with passion and emotion at a very young age. Because of her intuitive and feeling personality, not only was Malala able to communicate with her audience she was able to feel deep empathy and connect with them. Malala has dedicated her youthful life to raising awareness on the lack of education many people struggle with, and I can't wait to see her grow and improve in her activism journey.

Joe Biden our current president has the personality type of the Consul. People like Biden are attentive and people-focused who enjoy taking part in their social community. They are guided by decisive values, and are always willing to offer guidance. Unlike the other leaders that were analyzed Joe Biden posses the Sensing or Observant trait. The difference is this is going to be in the way they see the world and process information. Instead of someone who is all about possibility and theory Joe Biden is more of practical leader and is focused on what is instead of what can be. That being said he is able to develop strong habits and lead in a way that is pragmatic and fair.
